What was your favourite part of the wedding planning?
My favourite parts of our wedding planning are discussing about our wedding reception décor, the special surprise performance by us for our invited guests, my stunning bridal ballgown that fits in well with the theme we chose, picking the best photographers’ and videographers’ team to capture our memorable moments and the Make-Up Artist & Stylist that fits in my bridal look preferences.

How did you know your gown was 'the one'?
First of all, it is all about my personality and my true self when I am in a relationship with my husband, Nicholas. The bridal gown that I chose with The Atelier team presented my personality so well when I first put it on during the fitting session. The long cathedral train on my bridal ballgown was what I really wanted even before I started my wedding planning journey, and surprisingly it turned out to be even longer and one of a kind than others.

What was everyone's reaction to the gown on your wedding day?
Everyone loves it and was in awed and complimented my bridal ballgown was extremely grand and looked just like a fairytale princess who walks out from a castle with a prince.
How did the gown make you feel when you put it on?
It makes me felt so confident at my wedding, I am very sure that it will never go wrong and would not have any underdressed anxiety during my wedding thinking will the invited guests may dress way better than me. I can’t wait to show my husband, Nicholas that I will be his Princess forever in this lifetime.
What was your first thought when you found The Atelier gown for your wedding?
It was such a grand ballgown with a super long cathedral train that has superior quality and delicate beaded details and embroideries in such a stunning old English Victorian Era style. There are so many great choices and exceptional service at The Atelier with their team.

How did you meet your husband? Can tell us about your love story?
Actually, we both met a very long ago when we studied in the London, UK but that time we weren’t fond with each other yet due to some playful incidents. However, after we came back home to KL, Malaysia, we were fated to bumped into each other once again and we became friends. Since then, we slowly developed our feelings for each other. From there onwards, I found out that he actually has feelings towards me for some time quite long ago. The funniest thing he did in purpose was he tried to unfollowed and followed me on Instagram again and again to gain my attention. Unfortunately, the silly me still haven’t noticed anything at all. All I can say is that we are destined to be together, instantly we fell in love with each other and we were in a relationship. That’s how our love story started until we got married recently. Hahaha!
What was the most important thing for you and your husband when it comes to planning your wedding together?
A wedding that is different and unique from the norms.

What was your wedding theme? And what make it so special?
Our wedding theme is inspired by William Shakespeare’s play, “A Midsummer Night's Dream”. We wanted to keep everyone in awe and surprised. From the moment they arrived at the foyer, it may look normal from the outside of the ballroom but as they entered the ballroom, the extraordinary wedding reception décor in the ballroom will keep their eyes wide-open and gives them a mysterious yet whimsical environment. Just as if they had entered into a mythical wonderland or some sort of fairytale realm that they could never have imagined. We would describe it’s just like the whimsical scenes from Alice in the wonderland.
How you choose your wedding venue?
Firstly, we decided to have our wedding reception at a hotel because we wanted our guests who stays back for the afterparty to return to their respective rooms safely and comfortably to rest after everything had ended. St Regis KL Hotel is our choice because it is with a very impressive grand ballroom and a spacious foyer, which matches our whimsical theme perfectly and gave a lot more space that we needed for the one-of-a-kind beautiful decorations for our wedding reception.

What is the most memorable moment that you both will never forget?
a) Wedding Planning:The challenging experiences searching for my bridal gown; unfortunately, my customized gown from another brand didn’t turn out well and I really struggled to find another place that could provide the right gown for myself as it was too last minute and too close to my wedding reception date. But destiny brought us include my mother-in-law, Datin Sri Irene to The Atelier, and everything were resolved here. I and my mother-in-law walked out the aisle with stunning wedding gown and bespoke gowns for the joyous celebration. Last but not least, is the dance classes we had weekly as a routine was the happiest moments with our siblings.
b) Wedding Day: Our surprise dance for our guests, the first look moment with my husband, the photoshoot & video shoot sessions of us the couple and our family in the ballroom before the reception starts. They are all the shining stars of our whimsical wedding reception.

How was your experience with us and our brand, The Atelier?
When I found The Atelier, it was a little too late to customize my bridal gown for the wedding. Additionally, I only wanted to have something that is completely different, extraordinary and stands out from any other brides. Definitely it is not something that is so common which are seen on some other people’s weddings, photos or videos online until our guests would able to spot, guess or know where we purchased our gown from. However, The Atelier team patiently helped me and my mother-in-law throughout the wedding gown and evening gowns design planning even with the shortest time given to them. Their ready-made gowns are already the one and only in Malaysia, which most of it are handmade with high quality imported materials and designed by the Professor Jimmy Choo, OBE himself and his team of talented designer team. I love the fact that each piece of their gowns has a name and story behind it! I love that the amazing team constantly reassuring me and comforting me throughout the time even until my wedding day, the team was there to guide me through the march in and comforting me.
What advices would you give to all the future brides?
a) Please do not customize your wedding gowns with any designers who does not have a strong background or do not have the same instinct as you. They are able to sketch anything that may looked like what you wanted, but somehow when it comes to the actual products with the quality or the design of the bridal gowns given by them may be a disappointment especially when your expectations are high towards them.
b) Please select your gown as soon as you both had decided and booked your wedding reception venue. If you would like to go for rental services, your wedding date may have a lot of other weddings too. Therefore, you will have too little choices to choose from their collections at the bridal houses you visited.
c) Otherwise, The Atelier is your best-to-go choice if you would like to be the one and only bride that owns the gown and be the shining star of your wedding.
Are you both happy with our products and services?
Yes, definitely. I will come back again for my brothers’ or sisters’ weddings to customize a gown. And if in the next 10 or 20 years, when I will have my wedding anniversary, I will definitely look for The Atelier again to pick the gown for my joyous celebrations.
